variance table becomes too big causing latex to bomb. This sorts the
entries by slowest time in descending order showing the top 15. This
might not be the best idea but it will do for now.

remove the compiler's absolute path if it has one.

Modified Makefile so that objects are only rebuilt if the need to be.
